The Coaching Journey

I have been fortunate to be in the work of coaching for over 20 years and just like any field or area, have gone through different phases of learning and understanding about coaching – The important skills for coaching, the business of coaching, the spirit of coaching and many many more.
I’d like to believe that through time and experiences, one keeps evolving and growing as a coach.

I remember, when I started out coaching (I prefer referring to it as “Working with people”), there was a phase where it was so important that “I and only I”ย make the difference! Nobody else. Just me!
That felt soooo goood!

Then gradually over time, it stopped fuelling me and I began to realize that actually “I” did not matter at all…. and that it was the person on the other side who who really mattered…
So, what did I do?
“I” stopped mattering… gave my full attention to the person on the other side… and that felt sooo goooood!

But then, there were times where I felt that I was giving and giving and giving and giving, to the point where I couldn’t help, but feel drained.
And so, there was another phase and understanding and process of learning.

Both Monica and I have learnt a lot since we’ve been in this work and what I’d like to do is to share some things in this space… things that I have learnt while growing as a coach, mistakes that I have made (and I have made many!), and things that have worked.

Do watch out for this space… you may just find something useful ๐Ÿ™‚

Remember… You have been warned! ๐Ÿ™‚

This is fantastic , looking forward to learn more and more from your journey Ashlesh ๐Ÿ™‚

I have been so fortunate to have learned so much from you over the years, it’s a real privilege, I sometimes used to think that NLP has changed my life, but then saw other NLP trainers and realized that it wasn’t NLP, it was the way YOU taught NLP and the way YOU cared and interacted and worked with people that created that magic that I felt and loved and changed my life for better 15 years ago (and still do) . You have and will always matter my dear friend ๐Ÿ™‚

Wow Ash. Very nicely expressed. My reflection is that I could clearly visualise my time into what you have explained. I am sure to learn and be aware of all other phases of coaching and we all will learn your 20 years of learning through your sharing
